Google Home For PC Software Windows 7/8.1/10/11 (32-bit or 64-bit) & Mac
Google Home For PC is used to set up and manage Chromecast, Google Home, and other intelligent devices compatible with Google Home. While it’s designed to only work with iOS and Android devices, there are workarounds for using the Google Home app on PC.
Google Home is a line of smart speakers and smart displays developed by Google. While the Google Home devices are primarily standalone hardware products that require a Wi-Fi connection, there is also an option to control and interact with Google Home devices using a computer or PC. However, there is no official standalone software called “Google Home for PC.”
To control Google Home devices from a PC, users can access the Google Home app through a web browser. The Google Home app provides a user-friendly interface that allows users to set up and manage their Google Home devices, create routines, control smart home devices, and more. By logging in with their Google account on the web version of the Google Home app, users can have similar functionalities as they would on a mobile device.
Moreover, Google Home devices integrate seamlessly with other Google services and products, such as Google Assistant, Chromecast, and YouTube. This enables users to control media playback, ask questions, set reminders, and perform other tasks using voice commands via the Google Assistant on their PC, provided they have a compatible microphone and speakers.
Latest Version
Google Chrome can mimic some of the functionality of the Google Home app, but it’s minimal. For example, you cannot set up Google Home devices using the Chrome browser, so you still need a mobile device or Android emulator. You can, however, Cast or stream to any of your Google Home or Chromecast devices. Before you begin, ensure you are running the latest version of Chrome and that your PC and Google Home device are connected to the same Wi-Fi network. To cast or stream to a Google Home device, select the three vertical dots in the top-right corner of Chrome and, choose Cast, then select your device.
Can You Control All Google Home Devices From Your PC?
Using Google Home For PC App functionality depends on your method. When using an emulator, you’ll have full access to all features. However, when using only your browser, there are certain things you won’t be able to do, such as setting up devices for the first time. It is also possible to install Google Assistant on Windows 7/8.1/10/11 to take full advantage of Google’s virtual assistant; however, voice support is rather lisomewhatwhen streaming media from Chrome to Google Home devices, so you can only use a few simple commands such as “Stop” and “Max volume.”

Features
1. Plug in your Google Home
Your Google Home plugs into the wall and, after a few minutes, will light up and start looking for your phone. There’s no on/off button. It’s always on when it’s plugged in. Stay nearby with your phone.
2. Download the Google Home app from your phone’s app store and open the app
Download from Google Play or the App Store. Accept the terms of service, and agree to turn on location permissions. Yes, Google’s spying on you. By having Google Home, you’re all in. You might as well let it know where you are. Ensure you are connected to your home Wi-Fi network, as your phone will pass that information to Google Home.
3. Sign in with a Google account
You’ll need a Google account to use Google Home, preferably one with a gmail.com address. If you don’t have one, now’s the time to open your browser on your PC, go to Gmail.com, and set one up.
4. Don’t allow email notifications
We don’t need more spam. You’re going to have to do this twice.
5. Tap the setup icon in the upper right-hand corner
Now, tap Sign In and set the location of your Google Home hardware. The speaker needs to do this so it can give you local weather and commute times. You can also read this Roku Software For PC
6. Link your music service
Google Home supports four music services: Play Music, YouTube, Spotify, and Pandora. You need a Google Play Music or Spotify premium account to get the most out of it. Those will let you request specific songs and albums. With the free services, you’ll only be able to listen to themed stations or artist mixes. Google Home can’t access your purchased or local music libraries.
7. Step through the tutorial
Now you’ll get some tips on how to use Google Home and fun things to ask it. My daughter likes to ask how to spell words while doing her homework.
8. Tap the left-hand menu button, then More Settings
Let’s set up some of the optional features on Google Home. You can access them through the menu by tapping the three-line icon in the upper left-hand corner. Tap More settings to see the complete list.
9. Change your News and My Day settings
When you say, “listen to the news” or “tell me about my day,” you can get customized information from your Google Home. Tapping News, then Customize, lets you change your news sources—for instance, from NPR to Fox News. Tapping My Day lets you change a few options in the daily briefing.
10. Change what Google Home calls you
Scroll down and choose “Personal Info,” then “Nickname,” to change what Google Home calls you and how to pronounce it. Yes, you can have it call you “Boss” or “Colonel.”
11. Enter your commute locations
If you want Google Home to give you accurate commute times, under “Personal info,” choose “Home & work locations.” Enter the address of your home and office. Then you can ask it, “how long is my commute?”
12. Add home electronics
Google Home is compatible with Philips Hue lightbulbs ($21.24 at Amazon), Nest thermostats, Samsung SmartThings, and Chromecasts. Tap Home Control to add a new Nest, Hue or SmartThings device. They all have to be on the same Wi-Fi network to add or control these items.
13. Add Chromecast devices
Google Home needs a Chromecast ($35.00 at Walmart) or a Chromecast-compatible TV to control your TV. Plug your Chromecast into the TV and switch to the appropriate input. When the Chromecast tells you on the TV to switch to the Google Home app, tap the “devices” icon at the upper right-hand corner of the main screen to set up the Chromecast. You’ll need to tie it to the same Google account used by your Google Home. You can then use your voice to control various music, video, and photo services, like “OK Google, play Christmas music” via Spotify or Google Play Music or “OK Google, play Stranger Things” via Netflix.
14. Control Google Home by voice and touch
Curious about what to ask? Look in your Google Home app. Tap the menu button on the upper left and choose “What can you do?” for suggestions. To change the volume, make a dialling motion on the top surface of the Google Home, or say, “OK, Google, volume “, and a number from one to 11. Have fun chatting with Google!

Conclusion
Google Home is essentially Google’s version of the Amazon Echo. It lets you do the same things you can with your Android voice assistant without pulling out your phone to use it. Instead, it’s a standalone device that sits on your desk, countertop, or side table and is always ready to go whenever you want to ask a question or issue a voice command.
If you don’t already have an Amazon Echo but want to see what all the fuss is about, getting the Google Home is an alternative you can look into, especially since it only costs $129, whereas the Echo is priced at $179.
Granted, the Echo is probably a better option right now, as it supports more smarthome devices. Still, the Google Home has a few exclusive features—like access to Google’s mass library of knowledge or the ability to control your Chromecast (which Amazon can’t do).
