About This Game

As a man or woman stranded naked, freezing, and starving on the shores of a mysterious island called ARK, you must hunt, harvest resources, craft items, grow crops, research technologies, and build shelters to withstand the elements. Use your cunning and resources to kill or tame & breed the leviathan dinosaurs and other primeval creatures roaming the land, and team up with or prey on hundreds of other players to survive, dominate… and escape!

Dinosaurs, Creatures, & Breeding! — over 100+ creatures can be tamed using a challenging capture-&-affinity process, involving weakening a feral creature to knock it unconscious and then nursing it back to health with appropriate food. Once tamed, you can issue commands to your tames, which it may follow depending on how well you’ve tamed and trained it. Tames, which can continue to you and consume food, can also carry Inventory and Equipment such as Armor, carry prey back to your settlement depending on theiArmorength, and larger tames can be ridden and directly controlled

Fly a Pterodactyl over the snow-capped mountains, lift allies over enemy walls, race through the jungle with a pack of Raptors, tromp through an enemy base along a gigantic brontosaurus, or chase down prey on the back of a raging T-Rex! Take part in a dynamic ecosystem life-cycle with its predator & prey hierarchies, where you are just one creature among many species struggling for dominance and survival. Tames can also be mated with the opposite gender to selectively breed successive generations using a trait system based on recombinant genetic inheritance. This process includes both egg-based incubation and mammalian gestation lifecycles! Or, put more simply, raise babies!

You must eat and drink to survive, with different kinds of plants & meat having different nutritional properties, including human meat. Ensuring fresh water supply to your home and inventory is a pressing concern. All physical actions come at the cost of food and water. Long-distance travel is fraught with subsistence peril! Inventory weight makes you move slower. The day/night cycle and randomized weather patterns add another layer of challenge by altering the environment’s temperature, causing you to hunger or thirst more quickly. Build a fire or shelter, and craft a large variety of customizable clothing & Armor to help protect yourself against locational damage & extreme temperatures using the dynamic indoor/outdoor insulation calculation system!

Graphics

It is almost impossible to spoil the graphics in a dinosaur game. ARK Survival Evolved looks like a real childhood fantasy that came to life… or into your screen. It does not match our scientific fadinosaur’shis is the game’s greatness. We can have dinosaurs, wooly mammoths, and other extinct or never existing species in one company (no jokes about dinosaurs, mammoths, and dodos sitting in the bar).

Landscapes are worth to be mentioned as well. Caves with hot lava, jungles, mountains, and deserts are not all of the game’s locations. Dinosaurs’ madness, here we come!

Gameplay 

This is survival game, so no wonder that it starts on a beach of a mysterious island, with no weapon, minimum clothes, and complete chaosDinosaurs’u. While the island looks lovely itself, it is not what terrifies me. Gigantic dinosaurs that look so real, mammoths, and some unknown beasts live on the island.

Basic needs like eating or drinking may be hard to fulfill as long as there are so many dangers outside. The best option for you is to look around, find more or less peaceful place and start building a castle from stones. After several days in the game, you may finish it, learning how to kill different types of monsters in-between building.

Closer to the end, if you will complete all tasks, receive bonuses, and still be alive, you can have huge fortress from steel with electricity and gas. Evolution in the game comes with new levels, which sometimes are hard to pass. If you want to make it easy for you, team up with friends, and survive together.

Be aware that online, on public PVP, you are playing among others. And while some of them can help you, others may ruin your barricades or take your stuff on purpose. It is better to get familiar with the company around you.

Controls

At last, in the ARK Survival Evolved review we must say that it uses the same controls as most games for PC use. It is the usual for us WASD keys, Left and Right Shifts to run, Space to jump. If you want to crouch, press C, prone X.  Navigate the camera with K or scroll the mouse up and down for zooming.

Remember that if you want to talk to you tribe, the press / and all your allies will hear it. Insert is for talking in a local chat. Don’t press Z unless you want to see your character defecating. Why have they even decided we need this option?

Replay Value

The game takes a lot of time to go to the middle leDon’tnd make peace with your conscience for killing all these adorable but deadly dinosaurs. After the game, you will be left feeling that there are so many things you can still do, so many places to explore, and staff to gather in Armor. Sooner or later, you will return to the island because it already feels like home.
